Short: Anything by my wonderful friend Richard Webster.

Longer: My friend Richard Webster has written more books on cold reading than anyone else in history and they are all good!

You simply cannot go wrong with Richard's work. If you get a few of Richard's books, you won't be disappointed. His knowledge, expertise and experience shine from every page!

I'm very proud to include Richard among my friends. He's one of the nicest, kindest people on the planet. Buy his books, support his work and drop him an email or say hi to him on Facebook. He'd love to hear from you!

The best way to get Richard's books is to visit the marvellous 'Deceptionary' website maintained by Doug Dyment: https://www.deceptionary.com/ .

What else do I recommend? Brad Henderson's book 'The Dance' is well worth a look and very distinctive. Here's one way of looking at it: if my 'Full Facts' book describes the nuts and bolts of how cold reading actually works, 'The Dance' explores the psychological interplay between reader and client. It's a very interesting perspective.

I also recommend 'The Tarot Reader's Notebook' by Ron Martin. When I was learning how to give readings, I remember this being one of the best, most brilliant and perceptive books on the subject.

Other than that... I suggest you spend less time reading and more time giving readings! It's a much better way to learn, as well as being more fun!

You should also sign up for some of my personal training. I can show you the best way to give personal readings or to use cold reading for business purposes.
